JTCars Enter The Record Books
It was another milestone for JTCars.net as we entered the Malaysia Book Of Records as the first to complete a lap around Sepang International Circuit on the 16th of June 2023.
Fielding a 1956 Allgaiers A111 System Porsche, it took about 2 months of preparation before we could manage this attempt. Before hitting the track, all seals, fluids, tires and electricals were looked into, as previously it spent most of its time on a farm in Texas. Parts were not easy to come by but fortunately the crew were able to source and prepare her in time.
It "boasted" a single piston diesel engine pumping out 12hp and a top speed of 16kph. This was back then in 1956, so we hand to bear in mind pushing her at 16kph in 2023, 67 years after manufacture, would be taking a high risk.
At Sepang International Circuit, the gradient changes were up to 20 meters. It was calculated that in order to complete the lap at a reduced speed of 15kph, it would take 33 minutes.
When the time came, she mustered through at a constant pace of 15kph and exceeded our expectations crossing the line in under 30 minutes. Unlike our trackday, it wasn't about setting the fastest time but just to complete the lap and it was very suspenseful. Finally, she came home and was probably ready for another lap, but we weren't!
We like to take this opportunity to thank all our partners, suppliers, crew, owners and everyone else who came out en masse to support us. It was truly inspiring and no words can truly describe our heartfelt appreciation.
