PLANO, Texas (Aug. 21, 2024) – The limited-run Lexus RX 500h Black Line Special Edition package returns for 2025, offering another variation for the best-selling vehicle. The package is offered exclusively on the RX 500h F SPORT Performance model and features black exterior appearance parts, orange brake calipers and 21-inch split-five-spoke wheels with a black finish.
In addition to offering the Black Line Special Edition package, the 2025 RX sees the introduction of the F SPORT Design grade, available only on RX 350 and RX 350h. With the new grade, the RX is now offered in seven grades: Standard, Premium, Premium+, Luxury, F SPORT Handling, F SPORT Performance and F SPORT Design.
The 2025 RX is expected to arrive in dealerships later this year. Pricing will be available at a later date.
BLACK LINE SPECIAL EDITION PACKAGE
The 2025 Lexus RX Black Line Special Edition builds on the RX 500h F SPORT Performance grade is limited to 500 units in North America. It features an Incognito exterior color, black styling touches, 21-inch black-finished wheels, and orange brake calipers. The interior is black with gray stitching for a sporty look.
F SPORT DESIGN
For 2025, the Lexus RX introduces the F SPORT Design, available on the RX 350 and RX 350h. It includes F SPORT Handling exterior features like a specialized front fascia, grille, rear valence, and 21-inch 10-spoke alloy wheels with a gloss black metallic finish. Six exterior colors are offered: Ultra White, Cloudburst Gray, Iridium, Caviar, Copper Crest, and Grecian Water. The interior comes with Birch and Black options featuring Black Open Pore Wood trim.
THE GA-K PLATFROM DIFFERENCE
The 2025 Lexus RX is built on the GA-K platform, offering a low center of gravity due to the use of strong metals like 1180 MPa steel in the side rockers, 1470 MPa steel in the roof, and 2GPa steel in the B-pillars. The platform includes bracing for added rigidity and features a multi-link suspension in the rear. The RX is 192.5 inches long with a 112.2-inch wheelbase and a track width of 65 inches in the front and 66 inches in the rear. The design ensures ample legroom for rear passengers, generous cargo space, and a low back door trim for easier loading.
POWERTRAIN
1. RX 350 (FWD/AWD):
- Powered by a 275-hp turbocharged four-cylinder gasoline engine with 317 lb.-ft. of torque.
- Features advanced technologies like a center injection system and lightweight pistons.
- Paired with a short-ratio eight-speed Direct Shift-8AT for smooth acceleration.
- AWD version uses an electronically controlled system that adjusts front-to-rear power distribution for optimal handling.
2. RX 350h (AWD):
- Hybrid system with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder Atkinson-cycle engine, producing 246 hp and 233 lb.-ft. of torque.
- Equipped with a high-output nickel-metal hydride battery under the rear seat for efficiency and comfort.
- Can include Lexus' E-Four AWD system, which adds a rear motor for improved traction.
3. RX 450h+ (AWD):
- Features a plug-in hybrid system with a lithium-ion battery and 2.5-liter engine, achieving an estimated 83 MPGe.
- Offers a 35-mile electric-only driving range and a 0-60 time of approximately 6.2 seconds.
- Includes a 6.6 kW Onboard Charger, allowing for a full charge in about 2.5 hours with a 240V outlet.
- Uses an electronically controlled AWD system for enhanced driving dynamics.
4. RX 500h F SPORT Performance AWD:
- Combines a 2.4-liter turbocharged engine with a six-speed automatic gearbox and electric motor, producing 366 hp and 406 lb.-ft. of torque.
- Includes an 80-kW eAxle at the rear for immediate power delivery.
- Equipped with the DIRECT4 AWD system, which adjusts power distribution between axles for improved handling and ride comfort.

1. Suspension:
- Front: MacPherson struts provide sharp handling and absorb road vibrations for a smooth ride.
- Rear: A five-arm multi-link setup offers compact design benefits, maximizing cabin space and accommodating hybrid batteries.
- Adaptive Variable Suspension (AVS): Available on F SPORT Handling and F SPORT Performance models, AVS adjusts shock absorbers in real-time for enhanced ride comfort, stability, and steering response.
2. Braking:
- Standard models feature two-piston calipers with 13.39-inch rotors for smooth deceleration.
- F SPORT Handling and Performance models use six-piston aluminum calipers with 15.74-inch front rotors, which are lighter and provide composed braking.
3. Dynamic Rear Steering (DRS):
- Available on F SPORT Performance models, DRS enhances maneuverability by adjusting rear wheel steering angle based on speed. The system can turn the rear wheels up to 4 degrees, either in the same or opposite direction as the front wheels, for improved handling and stability.

LEXUS SAFETY SYSTEM+ 3.0

- Risk Avoidance Emergency Steer Assist:** Adds steering torque during emergency maneuvers.
