PLANO, Texas (Nov. 4, 2024) – When Toyota introduced the Grand Highlander in 2024, it aimed to create the ultimate family SUV with spacious three-row seating, ample cargo space, multiple powertrains, and a sporty design. For 2025, Toyota expands the lineup with the stylish Hybrid Nightshade Edition and value-focused LE grade.

The Hybrid Nightshade Edition, based on the Hybrid Limited grade, features black 20-inch wheels and blacked-out accents, available in Midnight Black Metallic, Wind Chill Pearl, and a new Cement color. Inside, it offers leather-trimmed seating, heated and ventilated front seats, heated second-row seats, a 12.3-inch touchscreen, JBL sound system, and ambient lighting.

The LE grade adds more value with seating for eight, a 12.3-inch touchscreen, power liftgate, heated mirrors with blind spot indicators, and Toyota Safety Sense 3.0. It offers a 2.5L Hybrid AWD or 2.4L turbocharged gas engine with AWD or FWD options.

Additional 2025 updates include a Heavy Metal color for Limited and Hybrid MAX models and a removable second-row console in XLE trims. With three efficient powertrains—a 2.4L turbo gas engine, a 2.5L hybrid, and a 362-hp Hybrid MAX—the Grand Highlander remains a top choice for families.

Starting prices for the 2025 Grand Highlander are $40,860 for gas models, $44,210 for Hybrids, and $54,690 for Hybrid MAX. XLE, Limited, Hybrid Nightshade, and Platinum models arrive in dealerships in late December 2024, with LE models following in early 2025.

THREE POWERTRAINS FPUR GRADES
The Grand Highlander balances performance and efficiency across three powertrains. The gas engine offers 265 horsepower and a 0-60 time of 7.5 seconds, the hybrid delivers 245 horsepower with a 7.8-second 0-60, and the Hybrid MAX provides 362 horsepower, 400 lb.-ft. of torque, and a 6.3-second 0-60.

Efficiency ratings are 24 MPG for the gas model, 36 MPG for the hybrid, and 27 MPG for Hybrid MAX. With a 17.8-gallon tank, all models offer strong towing—3,500 lbs. for hybrid and 5,000 lbs. for gas and Hybrid MAX. Standard Drive Modes (Sport, Eco, Normal) and Multi-Terrain Select for AWD models enhance versatility.

AWD PROWESS
All Grand Highlander powertrains offer AWD: optional on the 2.4L turbo gas and 2.5L hybrid models, and standard on the Hybrid MAX.
- Dynamic Torque Control AWD (gas models): Adjusts torque between front and rear axles, as well as rear wheels, improving traction and stability.
- Electronic On-Demand AWD (hybrid models): Uses an electric rear motor for precise torque distribution, balancing fuel efficiency and performance with control from 100:0 to 20:80 front-to-rear.
- Full-Time Electronic AWD (Hybrid MAX): Delivers consistent power through front and rear motors, adapting from 70:30 to 20:80 front-to-rear power split for a dynamic, stable drive with rear-wheel-like responsiveness.

UNIQUE STYLING INSIDE & OUT
The U.S.-designed, Indiana-assembled Grand Highlander combines a bold look with roomy three-row seating.

Its hammerhead nose, trapezoidal grille, and bold fenders create a strong stance. Clean lines, a flat roof, rear spoiler, and wide tail lamps give a sleek yet sturdy profile. The Hybrid MAX adds dual exhausts and silver accents.

Wide rear doors ease third-row access, while black 20-inch wheels and a low hood enhance visibility. Inside, soft trims, wood-effect details, and independent armrests offer style and function. Premium seats are available in leather, with Hybrid MAX featuring Ultrasuede® and bronze accents.

VERSATILITY AND CONVENIENCE
The Grand Highlander is built for all journeys, short or long, with spacious seating and ample cargo room. Its TNGA-K platform offers stability, generous interior space, and an adult-sized third row, with storage for seven carry-ons behind it and up to 97.5 cu. ft. when seats are folded.

A standard 12.3-inch display centers the cabin, with features like a wireless charger, multiple USB ports, versatile cup holders, and a sliding console cover for added convenience. A pocket for small items keeps the passenger side organized.

In the second row, there are USB-C ports, cup holders, and separate controls for air conditioning. For Captain’s Chair models, there’s also a removable tray. Third-row passengers enjoy individual USB ports, device storage, and cup holders, along with grips for easier access.

TECHNOLOGY AND FEATURES WITH A PURPOSE
The Grand Highlander is packed with Toyota's latest tech, including Traffic Jam Assist* on the Platinum grade, which helps with stop-and-go traffic by controlling steering, acceleration, and braking at speeds of 0-25 mph.

Standard on all models is a 12.3-inch touchscreen with Toyota’s Audio Multimedia system, featuring touch and voice control. With an available one-year Drive Connect*** trial, drivers get access to Intelligent Assistant, Cloud Navigation, and Destination Assist, offering voice-activated commands and real-time routing info. Bluetooth® phone connectivity allows wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ compatibility.

Wi-Fi Connect*** offers 4G for up to five devices, turning the Grand Highlander into a hotspot. It also supports Integrated Streaming for Apple Music® and Amazon Music. For premium audio, an available JBL® Premium Audio system with 11 speakers delivers high-quality sound.

Additional Connected Services include Safety Connect***, Service Connect***, and Remote Connect***, with features like emergency assistance, vehicle health updates, remote start, and keyless entry via smartphone.

Convenience features include standard Blind Spot Monitor, Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, available Front and Rear Parking Assist, Panoramic View Monitor, heated steering wheel, power folding mirrors, hands-free power liftgate, and more. Some features are available only on Limited and Platinum grades.
