‘AEROSTHETIC’ DESIGN CONVEYS A SLEEK AND SOPHISTICATED IMAGE
The IONIQ 9 features a sleek ‘Aerosthetic’ exterior, blending aerodynamic innovation with futuristic styling. Its front design includes Parametric Pixels integrated into the LED light units and lower fascia, creating a sophisticated look. The smooth, curved roofline contributes to a streamlined profile with a low drag coefficient of 0.259 Cd[12] when equipped with digital side mirrors[13].

Energy efficiency is enhanced by optimized airflow under the body, a dual-motion active air flap system, aerodynamic wheels, and hidden antennas. With the longest wheelbase of any Hyundai model at 3,130 mm, IONIQ 9 offers an expansive cabin and impressive proportions.

The vehicle’s rear features a boat-tail design for aerodynamic performance, and the elimination of the traditional roof antenna contributes to its minimalistic design. Exterior lighting includes signature Parametric Pixel lamps and an intelligent front-lighting system[14] for improved visibility and safety.

IONIQ 9 offers a range of wheel options, including the premium 21-inch Calligraphy design, and is available in 16 exterior colors, including new hues like Celadon Gray Matte, Celadon Gray Metallic, Ionosphere Green Pearl, Sunset Brown Pearl and Cosmic Blue Pearl[15]. Inside, there are several interior trim choices, including Obsidian Black and six two-tone[16] options.

ENHANCED POWER ELECTRONICS ENABLE ADVANCED EV CAPABILITIES
IONIQ 9 is powered by Hyundai Motor's advanced E-GMP architecture, featuring an enhanced PE system with an optimized gear ratio for hill climbing and a two-stage inverter for improved efficiency. The fully encapsulated PE system reduces motor noise, while improved acoustic laminated glass, triple sealing, and a reinforced A-pillar plate help minimize road, wind noise, and vibrations inside the cabin.

The platform includes a high-capacity, high-voltage battery for extended range and a flat floor for added comfort and cargo space. The robust body structure enhances collision safety and crash energy distribution.

IONIQ 9 is the first Hyundai model to feature aluminum fenders and quarter panels, reducing weight and improving efficiency. The new dual-motion active air flap system enhances air sealing and exterior appearance with flush body panels. Additionally, the rolling-type pin-lift door hinge and newly developed electric hood latch improve fit, finish, and product quality.

LARGE-CAPACITY BATTERY DELIVERS IMPRESSIVE RANGE AND PERFORMANCE
The IONIQ 9 features a 110.3 kWh NCM lithium-ion battery, offering a WLTP-estimated range of 620 km and energy consumption of 194 Wh/km for the Long-Range RWD[17] model. It charges from 10 to 80 percent in 24 minutes using a 350 kW charger, with V2L and multi-charging capabilities.

The Long-Range RWD has a 160 kW rear motor[18], while the AWD models add a front motor. The Performance AWD model accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.2 seconds, the Long-Range AWD in 6.7 seconds, and the Long-Range RWD in 9.4 seconds. For mid-range acceleration, the Performance model takes 3.4 seconds, the Long-Range AWD takes 4.8 seconds, and the Long-Range RWD takes 6.8 seconds.

PRACTICAL, FUTURE-ORIENTED TECHNOLOGIES DELIVER INNOVATIVE EXPERIENCES
Hyundai Motor has integrated several advancements into the IONIQ 9 to address common EV customer concerns. These include the EV Route Planner, improved battery consistency, an enhanced torque control display, and a comprehensive energy report. The IONIQ 9 also displays charge status through green dots on the steering wheel and features Hyundai AI Assistant, a voice recognition system for easier interaction.

The Features on Demand (FoD) service allows customers to personalize their vehicle with digital upgrades, such as dynamic lighting, content streaming, and customizable display themes. The Bluelink® Connected Car Services offer seamless connectivity, real-time driving judgments, and a Driver Safety Index based on driving patterns.

IONIQ 9 supports over-the-air (OTA) software updates and includes a Digital Key, fast wireless charging, and 100W USB-C ports powered by the high-voltage battery. The Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) outlet allows users to charge devices via the car's battery.

The vehicle's climate system has a rear-independent function, perfect for leisure activities like car camping. It also includes a UV-C sterilizer to disinfect small items, addressing customer concerns about hygiene.

The infotainment system features a 12-inch[19] cluster and a 12-inch integrated monitor, with an optional premium BOSE 14-speaker sound system. It also incorporates e-Active Sound Design (e-ASD) for virtual driving sounds through the audio system.

STANDARD ADVANCED SAFETY FEATURES PROVIDE PEACE OF MIND
IONIQ 9's reinforced body structure ensures maximum battery safety by effectively distributing collision energy, maintaining structural integrity even in severe incidents. It also features third-row seat belt pre-tensioners and load limiters, improving third-row passenger protection and reducing head and neck injuries during a collision. Additionally, IONIQ 9 is equipped with 10 airbags to further enhance safety.

The vehicle also includes Hyundai’s latest Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) to prevent accidents and ease driving. These systems include Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist 2 (FCA), Lane Keeping Assist (LKA), Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist (BCA), Safe Exit Warning (SEW), Rear Occupant Alert, Intelligent Speed Limit Assist (ISLA), Driver Attention Warning (DAW), and more.

DRIVER-CENTRIC TECHNOLOGIES ENHANCE PERFORMANCE AND EFFICIENCY
IONIQ 9 features a column-type shift-by-wire system integrated with the ignition button for intuitive operation and space efficiency, providing haptic feedback in reverse. The system has been enhanced for improved responsiveness, alongside an upgraded braking system for better stopping power and efficiency.

The SUV’s Chassis Domain Control Unit optimizes driving performance with dynamic torque vectoring and lateral wind stability control. It also includes a Terrain Traction Control System and Auto Terrain Mode[20], which uses AI to adjust the driving mode based on the road surface.

The suspension system, featuring a MacPherson multi-link setup in the front and a multi-link system in the rear, offers comfort with self-leveling dampers and hydro-bushing to reduce vibration.

IONIQ 9 also boasts towing capabilities, with European models able to tow up to 2,500 kg and North American models up to 5,000 lbs. Digital Side Mirrors are available in select markets, providing a wide-angle rear view and enhancing aerodynamics.

For a quieter drive, IONIQ 9 minimizes road noise with sound-absorbing tires, structural reinforcements, and an Active Noise Control-Road (ANC-R) system[21].

IONIQ 9 SET FOR GLOBAL SALES IN 2025
