RESTON, Va., Sept. 5, 2024 – Audi of America today announced an extensive freshening for the 2025 Audi A3 and S3 sedans, with all models arriving with standard quattro® all-wheel drive. The 2025 A3 becomes more appealing, more comfortable, and more digital than ever, thanks to its sharpened exterior design, extended standard equipment, new interior materials and access to the Audi app store that permits popular apps to be loaded directly into Audi’s Multimedia Interface (MMI). The S3 sees substantial increases in performance with added power, chassis upgrades, and the addition of an advanced torque splitter – first introduced for the Nürburgring lap-record holding RS 3.
SHARPENED EXTERIOR ELEVATES A3 AND S3 DESIGN
The 2025 A3 lineup, following a 2022 redesign, gets updated exterior styling with new laser-etched B-pillar badging, refreshed front and rear LED lights, a frameless front grille, and a more pronounced rear diffuser. New wheel options include a 17" 10-V-spoke design and an 18" 5-double-spoke modular design. Four new colors—Arkona White, Arrow Gray pearl, Progressive Red metallic, and District Green metallic—are introduced.
The S3 now features a flatter, wider frameless Singleframe grille with L-shaped accents and larger side air intakes for a sportier look. The new rear bumper mirrors the front’s design with an S-specific diffuser and vertical reflectors, and the car’s rear is enhanced by quad tailpipes. For the first time, the S3 offers up to four customizable digital daytime running light signatures using 24-pixel LED elements, enhancing the sporty feel.
SIGNIFICANTLY UPGRADED INTERIOR
The 2025 A3 models see significant interior upgrades, including redesigned shifters, air vents, and enhanced lighting. New interior inlays complement improved materials, and the 10.25” Digital instrument cluster is now standard. Features like a wireless charging pad, door panel lighting, and the Audi App store for loading popular apps into MMI are now available. A top-view camera will be introduced later in the model year.
Standard features include a three-spoke leather steering wheel, ambient lighting, and a center armrest. A new chrome-accented blade design across the dash emphasizes cockpit width, while the compact shifter integrates smoothly into the center console. Optional lighting includes 30 ambient colors, with additional accents on the switch panel and door sills. A new backlit fabric element on the front doors adds dynamic lighting effects, along with large Sonos speakers for immersive sound.
The S3 features an ambient lighting package with added accents, dark interior colors with silver details, black roof lining, stainless steel pedals, and illuminated S-logo door sills. Carbon fiber inlays are available across trims, and standard features include a Hands on Detection steering wheel with shift paddles, and sport seats for added support.
BETTER CONNECTED WITH NEW APP STORE INTEGRATION
For 2025, the Audi connect NAV trial for the A3 and S3 has been extended from six months to three years. Audi connect PLUS now includes an integrated in-vehicle App Store, allowing direct downloads of popular apps like Spotify and YouTube to the MMI.
The 2025 A3 also comes standard with a 10.1” touch display and the Audi virtual cockpit. Standard features include an inductive smartphone charger, two front USB-C ports, and two additional USB-C ports in the rear.
STANDARD QUATTRO, AND MORE POWER
Both the 2025 A3 and S3 are powered by turbocharged 2.0L TFSI® 4-cylinder engines with standard quattro® all-wheel drive and 7-speed S tronic transmissions. The A3’s engine gains 15 lb.-ft. of torque (now 236 lb.-ft.), reducing its 0-60 mph time to 6.0 seconds.
The 2025 S3 sees a 22-horsepower increase, bringing it to 328 horsepower, with enhanced throttle response due to a new turbocharger preload feature. This reduces turbo lag and makes the 295 lb.-ft. of torque available across a broader rpm range (2,100 to 5,500 rpm). The S3’s top speed is capped at 155 mph.
RS 3 DERIVED CHASSIS UPGRADES ELEVATE S3 DYNAMICS
The 2025 S3 benefits from components inherited from the RS 3, enhancing driving dynamics, lateral stability, and steering performance. Key upgrades include a new standard rear torque splitter and swivel bearing suspension. A Dynamic Plus mode in Audi drive select optimizes the torque splitter, stability control, and engine performance for high driving dynamics.
The torque splitter allows variable torque distribution between rear wheels, reducing understeer and enabling oversteer. Up to 50% of torque can be sent to the rear axle. The 7-speed S tronic transmission has sportier tuning, reducing shift times and enhancing throttle response.
Upgraded suspension with stiffer bearings and progressive steering improves cornering and handling. The S3 comes with 18” tires standard, with 19” performance tires optional, and an S sports suspension lowers the body by 15 mm. Enhanced electronic stability control and adaptive dampers complete the improvements for more precise driving and stability at high limits.
